Open Mind
We all are not perfect people, we have our negative character, habits etc.. I decided to write this blog after speaking to one of my Secondary friends who is now studying in NTU and currently in the Dean List, he came from poly direct entry.. When I told him that I feel like joining the Worker Party youth team.. The first thing he say was I will bring down the name of WP.. This I may agree because I’m not a very hardworking person and my lazyiness will cause a lot of conflict.. Thats why I decided not to join, unless I really got the time to put all my effort in serving the people of S’pore.. Which I always want to do.. I want to help those who come from the slightly above lower income group.. Firstly they can’t enjoy the same benefits as the lower income group, they have to pay the same tax as those rich people.. Secondly I want to face the problem of foreign Labour and Students, we should lower the quota of input on these foreign talent.. They enjoy our security by our National Service Man as well as the fruits of our forefathers, who have work so hard in the past, without paying any extra cents or tax which we have to pay.. We should lower the number of foreign students into university and increase poly students intake.. As for those lower income job like cleaners, contruction site etc, as long as there is a minimum wage rate for those jobs where govt can pump in money to increase the wage, I confirm alot of S’porean are willing to work, which is happening in Hongkong.. Now Foreign Labours are cheap hence dampening the wage rate for all S’porean.. Manager mindset is that if S’porean don’t work, I can employ foreign workers.. HaiZzz.. Do you know that 80% on NTU student Union are foreign students, how can they experience the hardship we have, like paying school fee ourself, they have free educationa nd given $500 allowance a month.. Will they fight for our right when they don’t experience it.. How many Prof are foreigners?? Have you gone through a lecture not knowing anything?? Not that the module is hard but you can’t understand his language?? We S’porean have no time to spend on eca like student union etc, We got our family life, parttime jobs and schoold life to manage, unlike them.. 80% of local PHD students are foreigners.. Not that we are not smart, but we have to repay loan (house, car, study), take care of family and set up one etc.. Who want to go for further studies when they have so many things in mind to bother about ??? I got a good request, those local student that get into PHD or Master course of Scholarship, the govt should help to pay the loan which they incurred during their undergrad studies.. Many of us student are late boomers.. We may not Fare well in poly or A’level or even the begining of university life.. But we fare well later on and can go for Master or PHD course.. We cannot apply for scholorship during our admission to university so have to take up loan & repay them later which defer us from furthering our studies.. Hope my feedback can go a long way in helping S’porean.. Happen if some MPs or Opposition read my blog, or come to my school for meet the people session,I will try to voice out..
Let get back to my poly friends.. He is always condemning JC students, saying that they are very egolistic, selfish, like to complain etc.. He say we always complain about foreign students etc, Have he ever look at the future prospect of S’pore ??? How can you discriminate all JC students by having such a small sample size of JC friends or associate ??? If we S’porean among ourselves already differentiate ourself into different groups, how could we unite and win against this foreign forces ??? There will be more politics.. Look at the bigger pictures.. Have we JC people ever discriminate poly students??? We are all S’porean, there is even a ITE candidate in AMK Workers Party GRC, We are one people, one nation, one S’pore.. That is what happening in S’pore now, we are fighting among ourselve for properties, more money and easier life.. Why not we improve ourselves or unite and get rid of these foreign forces??? We need them to cover up our lack of labour forces but not to take away all our jobs away.. Many people only focus on a small point of view in Life.. and from that point assume everything is like the point u see, I was once like that and I’m trying to accept the World as it is.. We don’t owe the World anything neither do it.. We have to keep an Open Mind and not a narrow one where we find fault among each other with the slightest fault.. When you go to the WP’s Rally, where you hear close to 100K of S’porean united, Many complaining about their Life, Many wanting the People to unite.. Have you seen 100k of S’poreans saying the National Pledge together as one in English and Chinese Version.. The Pride is even higher then those during NDP parade.. Come On S’poreans, Let unite & not fight among ourselve.. Make S’pore a place where true S’porean like us live in.. Let not let our forefathers’ efforts, regardless they are farmers, coolies or businessman, gone to waste.. Lets make S’pore a Better Place to live in..
Another Bad things about S’pore is the gaming industry.. There was a documentary on Channel U discussing the gaming trend in S’pore.. Do you know many Youth now treat their parents like enemy when they are not allow to play games??? Parent are all becoming crazy and nervous about their children gaming addict.. How will this youth experience reality in this virtual games, how can they represent themself at S’porean except for those Gaming competition??? Do they understand what is S’pore politic?? Do they care about S’pore?? Is there still Kinship or friendship when everything around them is games??? What they want in the game they usually can get.. but in Reality, can you get everything you want ??? Will these gamer become future S’pore bastard who can’t handle the Harsh Reality in the World and not the virtual ??? What is S’porean Youth Becoming??? This is the 3rd generation Era, everything is almost virtual, sad to say that interperson relationship become all virtual like MSN, Email etc.. Its very bad.. Less meeting time, less communication etc.. People will become more narrow hearted.. No wonder people go to SDU, as they spend most of their time on the computer.. Super Sad..
